The Search for Mr. & Ms. ICT-E 2015

The College of Information and Communications Technology and Engineering headed its Dean, Mrs. Cherryl M. Tarre, is inviting you all to witness a night of beauty and brains with the Search for Mr. & Ms. ICT-E 2015.


Mr and Ms CICTE 2015 Official Candidates

Each pair will be representing one of the courses currently offered by the College of ICT-E (BS Computer Science, BS Information Technology, BS Computer Engineering and Associate  in Computer Technology).

The said event marks the Finale of a week long celebration filled with competitive games, literary and musical competition, seminars and more.




Grand Champion of the 2014 Tugob Festival

The Vegetable Contingent bagged the most number of awards during the 2014 Tugob Festival. The said contingent is composed mostly of college freshmen, sophomore and working scholars took pride in showing their dance moves and formation under the heat of the sun and through a jam packed crowd inside Ormoc City Superdome.

Aside from the prestige of being the Grand Champion, the contingent also won the Best in Costume, Best in Festival Street Dance and Best in Choreography, special thanks to Mr. Lomel Abarquez. While Miss Alexa Matuguina won the Best in Production Number and was named Miss Tugob Festival Queen 2014.

WLC Successfully Hosted LESITS 2013…

The Leyte Samar Information Technology Summit 2013 was held last September 6, 2013 at the WLC Gymnasium. Representatives from 12 schools in Leyte and Samar attended the said event, with a total of 460 registered participants which included students, faculty and staff.

Topics presented during the Summit were the following:

  • 3D Animation – presented by Mr. Francis Rodolfo R. Quirino Jr., ICT Professional / WLC ICT Faculty
  • PHIL-IT Certification by CEDF-IT – presented by Mr. Jun Sa-a, CEDF-IT Director
  • Green ICT – presented by Dr. Irene C. Taguinod, President of ITSPhil
  • Robotics – presented by Mr. Mark Angelo G. Bernardo, ICT Professional / WLC ICT Faculty
  • Software Testing Strategies and Techniques Applied in Mobile Programming – presented by Ms. Ellaine Sanchez, Software Quality Assurance Tester of Sandstone Technology Phils.

The said event was officially opened by the President of Western Leyte College of Ormoc City, Inc., Mr. Manuel T. Fiel.

One of the highlights of the summit was the electronic raffle draw through Sun Cellular, where four (4) lucky participants won brand new cellular phones.  Other participants also won minor prizes like flash drives and mp3 players through answering questions thrown by the speakers.
