Western Leyte College Holds Symposium

Western Leyte College through the Office of the Students’ Affairs and its National Service Training Program Coordinator Mr. Eli Borinaga held a symposium last June 29, 2012 at the WLC Gym participated by college students of the said school.

The Earthquake Preparedness Seminar and Drill joined the Nationwide School- based Simultaneous Earthquake Drill. There was lecture during the morning and the actual conduct of earthquake drill in the afternoon.

The facilitating team was composed of Henry Fajardo Nicolas as its team leader; Timothey R. Lopez, Florencio C. Ugsimar, Samuel B. Dagal, Richard P. Impas and Andrew H. Catayoc.

The team discussed concerns about earthquake like how and why it occurs, its threats and impacts to the school and students; what to do before, during and after earthquake and conducted earthquake drill to ensure the safety of students, faculty and staff of WLC during and after a damaging earthquake.

A total of 450 NSTP students and three NSTP teachers attended the symposium
